Meals on Wheels

Are rising grocery prices pinching your pocketbook? Is travelling to the city for a shop, sometimes difficult due to weather, crowds, or mobility issues? Is preparing balanced healthy meals getting harder? You are not alone! Seniors on the Island are already taking advantage of this service and are impressed with the food quality and convenience.

Who is eligible for Meals on Wheels?

Adults over 55, ODSP recipients, and those recovering from some surgeries are eligible to participate in the Meals on Wheels program.

What can I Order?

A wide variety of frozen meals in ready-to-microwave containers are available. Unfortunately, we are unable to arrange for hot meals. Sample menus are available below.

How often do I have to order?

Only as often as you like and you can order up to two weeks’ worth of meals at a time. Want to try it out before committing? Just order one or two meals the first time. You do not have to commit to switching completely. But having a couple in the freezer for days when you don’t want or cannot cook, can be a comfort and a lifesaver in a pinch.

How Much Does the Food Cost?

Five entrees plus soup or dessert OR seven entrees for only $32.70

Single entrees also available for $5.40

One single soup, dessert or breakfast snack all cost $1.70

* Subsidized rates available for low-income individuals through Meals on Wheels.
